REGISTRATION FOR THE ADA SUMMIT 2007

Registration for the ADA Summit 2007 will take place Wednesday, June 6 in the afternoon. At this time you will receive your participation identification, agenda and working materials.

Participants who arrive in Quito on Thursday June 7 must register at the event headquarters between 7 and 8:30 am .

Registration will be in alphabetical order. Please look for a desk with the first letter of your last name.

Journalist, special guests and speakers will have two independent tables for registration.

SUMMIT AGENDA

You will be able to find the preliminary Agenda from the ADA Summit 2007 by clicking here.

This preliminary agenda may change in respect to the fluctuating availability of the international speakers.

Participation for scholarship recipients during the ADA Summit 2007 is obligatory and one must confirm their presence before each session. If for some justified reason the scholarship holder cannot attend a session, one must communicate immediately to the organizers of the event. Otherwise, the certificate of attendance will not be handed over.

All activities will start on time.

ENTRANCE AND SECURITY DURING THE EVENT

In order to maintain an adequate level of order and safety that benefits each and every one of the participants and the event in general, we kindly ask you to observe and adhere to the event norms, that will be clearly posted at the event´s venue.

It is also required that all participants carry at all times, even during the social events, the identification badge that will be handed out at the moment of registration.

The cost for replacement of a lost identification badge shall be USD 15, 00 + tax. No exceptions.

PARTICIPANT TUITION & RECEIPTS

All advanced fees paid are non-refundable. Not exceptions.

You will receive a legal receipt at the moment of your registration at the event.

COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE ORGANIZERS & THE PARTICIPANTS

All related information about the event will be published on our website: www.auditoriademocratica.org and will be updated by the organizers on a regular basis.

Therefore, participants are encouraged to constantly check for updates regarding the event at the website noted above.

All communication related to the event shall be through e-mail.

TRIP INFORMATION AND ARRIVAL TO QUITO

Participants are encouraged to contact an Ecuadorian Consulate to familiarize with the visa requirements for visiting Ecuador. For more information, we recommend visiting the following website: www.mmrree.gov.ec

Please arrange your arrival on time to register for the ADA Summit 2007 on June 6th as stated above.

MEALS

All participants will receive a ticket for lunch at the time of registration. In the event of a lost meal ticket, replacements are not available.

Vegetarians, or those on a restricted diet, are responsible to inform the organizers of the event at the moment of filling out the On-line Registration form or the On-line Scholarship Application Form, to customize the meal to your needs.

SOCIAL EVENTS

Participation in the social event is not mandatory. The organizers suggest that it is a time for leisure and to develop networking opportunities between the participants

DRESSING CODE

Semi-formal attire is encouraged during the ADA Summit 2007 .

DRUG POLICY

Consumption of alcoholic beverages or any other toxic substances during the ADA Summit 2007, including during the stay in the hotel, is strictly prohibited.

ACCOMMODATION

Participants who receive a housing scholarship from the ADA Summit 2007 organizers will be placed in one of the following hotels:

- Hotel Tambo Real ( Av. 12 de Octubre y Queseras del Medio)

- Hotel Quito (Av. Av. González Suárez N27-142)

- Hotel Plaza Internacional (Calle 18 de Septiembre y Leonidas Plaza)

The housing scholarship recipients will be accommodated in a shared room, from 10 am on June 6 until June 9 at noon (12h00).

Participants who choose to either check-in early or check-out late are responsible for any additional expenses incurred by these actions to the respective hotel.

Each housing scholarship recipient should inform the organizers of the event the exact day of arrival and departure. The deadline for this information is May 28 th, 2007 via e-mail: logistica@auditoriademocratica.org. If the participant decides to make changes, it is his/her own responsibility to cover the cost of accommodation.

The reservation and distribution of hotels and rooms for the housing scholarship recipients will be at the exclusive discretion of the organizers.

Participants are prohibited from bringing unregistered individuals to the hotel and/or the academic event.

NOTE: The official hotel for the event, JW Marriot, has agreed to give a special discount to participants of the ADA Summit 2007. If any housing scholarship recipient prefers to stay in the Marriot Hotel, one may make arrangements to do so by paying an extra USD $ 25,00 dollars per night (for a sharing room including breakfast and taxes). If you are interested, please indicate this in the acceptance letter for the scholarship via e-mail.

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES

All additional expenses such as phone calls, bar consumption as food and beverages, laundry, use of internet and more will be the responsibility of the participants.

TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

All international participants are recommended to take an official cab from the airport right following passage through customs. The approximate cab fare from the airport to the hotel is USD $5.00 dollars (five dollars).

DEPARTURE FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS

The approximate time of travel between the airport and the hotel is 20 minutes. We recommend you plan your departure with enough time to check in, given that airlines mandate a three-hour advance check-in before your departure time.

The tax to leave the country is USD $37.90 and must be paid in cash at the airport. .

ELECTRICITY

Voltage in Ecuador is 110v.

CURRENCY

The U.S. dollar is the official currency of Ecuador. If you need to exchange money in Ecuador , we recommend you do so at an official Bank of Exchange company.
