Scholarship Application Process
The organizers of the ADA Summit are also very motivated to create a society of personal merit recognition and opportunity. Therefore they have established a limited number of partial or total scholarships for the payment of the investment. Furthermore, housing scholarships will be granted for those who do not reside in Quito on a need-based basis.
Those who wish to apply for a scholarship should fill out the scholarship application form which can be found here.
When you click on the scholarship application link you should take into account that all participants who shall receive a scholarship are subject to and shall comply with the rules stated within the ADA Summit's Practical Information and Rules of Participation (Click here to view this document).
The Selection Committee for scholarships will rule on Fridays, and will inform selected candidates of their decisions the following Tuesday via e-mail. The deadline for scholarship applications is on Friday May 4th 2007, or until the quota for participants has been filled. Therefore, those who apply for a scholarship before the deadline will have a greater chance of being selected.
The Selection Committee will abide by the following criteria in order to allot scholarships:
- Candidate’s commitment to social development.
- Representation of all of the countries in the Americas and of all of the regions of Ecuador.
- Gender Equality.
- Candidate’s financial need.
- Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship: a preference will be given to candidates who are between 22 and 30 years of age.
The Committee’s decision cannot be appealed.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Candidates who are chosen to receive a scholarship have one week to communicate their acceptance. Failure to communicate the acceptance of a scholarship will result in the automatic transfer of the scholarship to another candidate.
Those who request a scholarship between April 30th and May 9th will receive a response during the week of the 21st of May.
