ADA - History
ADA – Andean Democratic Audit was founded in Quito (Ecuador) in 2001 as an independent academic institution, dedicated to building institutions and a community committed to democratic values and practices. Through the instigation of a culture of participation, democratic evaluation and accountability, ADA was legally recognized by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador.
ADA was born inspired by the Democratic Audit project of Essex University (England), and has a prestigious International Board. Since its creation its direction was trusted upon a group of young professionals lead by Francisco López-Bermúdez and Analucía Córdova Cazar.
In 2006 Andean Democratic Audit (henceforth ADA – Leadership & Opinion) broadened its objectives and strengthened its investigative and interpretive work on public opinion, with the intent to offer opinion leaders with proper decision-making tools and therefore contribute to the development of an optimal and transparent public affairs administration.
